Mastering Services Approach

It's All About The Ears

We listen a lot to the incoming mixes before deciding the mastering approaches and we listen a lot to the final product to make sure that the best mastering job has been provided.  We complete an analysis of the mix. I want to really understand what was intended by the client and all of the strengths & weaknesses, plus the flow of the product. I will want to create a master that sounds good under different, and "real" circumstances.

The Mastering Technicians

Mastering technicians will analyze the individual spectrum and loudness dynamics of the mix which helps us decide on what we will be doing in the mastering process.  The technicians will then master the product under my close supervision.  I will then certify or improve the mastering before it is given to the client as the finished product.

The "Superdisc" Quality Control

As I said, it's in the ears.  In this case, my experienced ear that makes sure each job was done like I would have done it - of stellar quality.

Mastering Schedule

Generally we start by mastering one cut of the product (a demo cut).  This is given back to the client and, if the client wants the rest of the release mastered, we master it using the demo cut the client approved as a guide.  Generally it takes a week to 10 days to get back the demo and another 10 days to complete the job.
